Fall 5K & 10K Run

2011 Race Information

The 25th Annual Bank of Fincastle 5K and 10K Run on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at Central Academy Middle School in Fincastle, Virginia 24090 was a success. We had a total of 939 runners cross the finish line. Thank you to everyone who helped and to all of the participants!

The race began promptly at 9:00 AM.

Both courses were challenging with several steep inclines and declines through the historic town of Fincastle. Participants of all levels of ability were welcome. The streets were closed from 9:00 to 10:30 AM and the course was marked and staffed by volunteers. Traffic was controlled by county officials. Splits were given at each mile marker. Water stops were at 1.5, 3, and 5 mile markers. Fresh fruit and drinks were provided to all runners at the finish line. Bathroom and shower facilities were available at Central Academy Middle School.
